You must file your Notary Commission with the Stark County Clerk of Courts. If the Clerk administers the oath the cost is seven dollars ($7.00). Otherwise, the cost is five dollars ($5.00).
You can file the release with the Stark County Clerk of Courts, located in the lobby of the Court of Common Pleas. The cost to release a certificate of judgment lien is five dollars $5.00, and the cost to release a state tax lien is thirty-three dollars ($33.00). Note: The Clerk of Courts hours are: 10:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.

In a criminal case, the Court will provide counsel if the defendant cannot afford it. This Court cannot appoint attorneys for civil litigants. Please contact Stark County Community Legal Aid Services or Stark County Bar Association for assistance.
A dispositive motion refers to either a Motion for Default Judgment or a Motion for Summary Judgment. Dispositive motion deadlines are set in almost every case. In a foreclosure matter, if judgment is rendered prior to the trial date, the trial date will automatically be cancelled and the property will be sold at sheriff's sale.
While a party has the right to proceed "pro se" he/she also has the right to seek legal counsel from a licensed attorney if he/she desires legal professional assistance. However, this Court cannot appoint attorneys for civil litigants. That said, if the party is financially unable to retain counsel they may contact the Stark County Bar Association to inquire about the possibility of obtaining legal assistance at a reduced rate or pro bono.
