The below listed items must be returned to your vehicle or you may dispose of them in the garbage containers provided. Items placed in garbage containers will be destroyed and will not be returned to you.

  • Effective January 1, 2010, food and beverages may not be brought into the Stark County courthouse without permission of the court
  • Firearms (Federal and state definition) including black powder weapons (see below exception)
  • Any dangerous weapons and/or ordinance-including any type of explosives and precursor for them
  • Any knives, swords, sharp-pointed instruments, all types of razors, and files (metal type)
  • Pets (unless it is a government work dog or a certified service dog for the handicapped)
  • Drugs/Contraband
  • Air guns, bb-guns, toy weapons, tasers, or stun guns
  • Cameras, TVs, video recorders, radios and all other recording devices
  • Mace/O.C. spray of any kind, mist spray devices, aerosol canister, and any other chemical agents.
  • Handcuffs and handcuff keys (see below exception)
  • All tools (other than agency contractor business)
  • Glass bottles
  • Scissors and kitchenware items
  • Ammunition of any type (see below exceptions)

Exception is uniformed law enforcement officers (in distinguished uniform or properly displayed ID and badge)

The Stark County Sheriff's Office reserves the lawful right to prohibit other articles from entry if it is determined the item could be utilized in an adverse manner. Any prohibited or illegal item my be detained for use in an investigation, and if necessary, as evidence for prosecution.
