Overview
The Appellate Division is responsible for advocating on behalf of the State of Ohio in the appeals of all criminal matters as well as other appellate matters within the office of the Stark County Prosecuting Attorney. Appellate Division assistant prosecuting attorneys prepare appellate briefs and present oral argument in the Fifth District Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Ohio, and in the federal court system. The Appellate Division also responds in habeas corpus proceedings and postconviction matters, including petitions for postconviction relief.
