Since an agricultural building is exempt from the building code, you are not required to pull a building permit. You will need to contact the local zoning and health department to secure any approvals they may require. The only permit we would issue would be if you are going to be adding an electrical service to the building. For more information, please call our office.

Yes and no. You can pull a building permit and do the building work. You CANNOT pull the electrical and HVAC permits or do the electrical and HVAC work. Since this property is not your primary residence, you must have a licensed, registered electrical or HVAC contractor obtain the permit and complete the work. This also applies to a commercial project.
