Stark County has been designated a Participating Jurisdiction (PJ) as a Designated Consortium (CD) under the US Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) HOME Program. Stark County has been participating in this program since its inception in FY 1992. All political jurisdictions within Stark County participate in the county's HOME program except the city of Canton and the villages of Hills and Dales and Wilmot. HOME funding is utilized for the development of housing for low income persons/families.
Types of eligible HOME activities in Stark County:
- Rehabilitation of single family owner-occupied housing
- Rental housing - rehab and new construction
- Single-family new construction
