Natural Gas Aggregation

NATURAL GAS AGGREGATION PROGRAM ALERT

Stark County Announces

New Fixed Rates For Natural Gas Aggregation Program

Stark County, Ohio (August 28, 2026) – Stark County officials are pleased to announce that they have established new 12-month fixed-rates for members of the natural gas aggregation program.

The new rate for Enbridge customers will be $3.99/Mcf.

The new rate for Columbia customers will be $0.599/Ccf.

These fixed rates will run from the October 2026 meter read (November 2026 bill cycle) through the September 2027 meter read (October 2027 billing cycle).  IGS Energy will be mailing letters to Columbia customers on September 4th and letters will mail to Enbridge customers on September 10th.  The letter will explain the rate, terms and conditions of the offer.  The natural gas program was approved by voters in 2004 and is available for residents and small businesses in the unincorporated portions of the County.

Any residents with questions about their letter or status in the aggregation program should contact IGS Energy at 877-353-0162.

The mailer will explain the program offer and the means to opt-out should a customer not want to participate in the program. Residents will have 21 days to contact, or return an opt-out card to, IGS Energy if they decide not to participate.

For current participants wishing to continue, or newly eligible accounts wishing to begin, participating in the aggregation program no action is needed in response to the letter you receive.  Only those wishing not to participate in the program should respond to their opt-out letter.

Any accounts that have contracted with a supplier outside of the aggregation program will not receive an opt-out letter, and would need to contact IGS Energy if they wish to join the program.

We remind you that the aggregation program is simply another option for you to consider, and it is important that you make yourself aware of the other options available to you, specifically:

  • The Public Utility Commission of Ohio provides a list of other publicly available offers on their website, energychoice.ohio.gov. Anyone considering these supply offers should be aware of any early termination penalties, fixed monthly charges, or automatic renewal provisions that can quickly offset any perceived savings.  Our program includes none of the above.
  • The utility’s default supply rate, the Standard Choice Option (SCO). This is a variable rate option which follows monthly market conditions and trends up and down throughout the year.

While the aggregation is a competitive price offer, it never guarantees to be the lowest available option at all times.  Residents are reminded that the aggregation is simply one more option for them to consider as they seek to manage their natural gas costs.

The County is pleased to have made this program possible but asks that you do not call the County offices.  They cannot confirm your account status or add/remove accounts from the program.  Any residents with questions about their letter or status in the aggregation program should contact IGS Energy at 877-353-0162.
