Stark County has been designated a Participating Jurisdiction (PJ) under the US Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) HOME Program. Stark County has been participating in this program since its inception in FY 1992. All political jurisdictions within Stark County participate in the HOME program except the city of Canton and the villages of Hills and Dales and Wilmot.  HOME funding is utilized for housing for low- to-moderate income residents.. 
Types of eligible HOME activities in Stark County:

1. Rehabilitation of single family owner-occupied housing 
2. Rental housing rehab and new construction
3. Single-family new construction
