Planning / Zoning FAQs
Sections 310 – 314 of the Stark County Subdivision Regulations explain the three types of divisions of property without plat (lot splits), the requirements for each, the application process, and RPC action.
Any divisions of property under ORC 711.131 or 711.133 must obtain approvals and signatures from the Health Department, Sanitary Engineer, County Engineer (where applicable), and township zoning office (where applicable) prior to submitting the applications.
All divisions of property, including those claiming exemption, must be submitted at the Stark County Auditor’s office. After the survey is reviewed, they will forward the application packages to the Planning Commission for review and action.
See application for Division of Property Without Plat Within Unincorporated Area Only (August 2018 edition or later) for data and coordination required to be submitted with the application. Contact the RPC if you have any questions about the process or the application.
A processing fee is required for each tract of land reviewed and for Variances or Appeals for Subdivisions of Property Without Plat.
