Stark County Sheriff's Reserve Division
The Stark County Sheriff’s Office is proud to have the Sheriff’s Reserve as an integral part of its day-to-day operation. This reserve unit is operated under the auspices of the Sheriff and full-time deputies serve as directors of the organization.
The Reserves are comprised of men and women from the community that have been properly trained and certified as peace officers. These trusted individuals volunteer their time to the Sheriff’s Office and the Stark County Community.
The Reserve component is comprised of approximately forty sworn members and five guest (mounted) riders.
The Reserve organization consists of three battalions. One of the battalions is comprised of the mounted (horse) and motorcycle units.
These deputies augment the regular deputies in many activities throughout the year for the Sheriff’s Office. In addition to day-to-day operations, the reserves assist at the Stark County Fair and the Pro Football Hall of Fame Festival.
Stark County Sheriff Explorer Post 705
The Sheriff’s Office has an Explorer Post for the young adults interested in law enforcement.
The post is chartered with the Boy Scouts of America in Stark County. The post is a division of the Reserve Deputy Program and is supervised by members of the Sheriff’s Reserve Unit.
The Explorers assist the Sheriff’s Office and Reserve Unit at many of the special events throughout the year. They provide tours of the Sheriff’s Office and fingerprinting to young adults and children in Stark County.
The post has approximately twenty Explorers and is always interested in recruiting new members.
Presently we have five deputies with the Sheriff’s Office that began their careers as Explorers and are now employed as full-time deputies.
