The Stark County Health Department strives to improve the environmental health of schools through non-regulatory means since there are no rules or regulations to which these inspections must adhere. The Stark County Health Department focuses its school inspections on school sanitation and protecting public health using the recommendations from a guidance document developed by the Ohio Department of Health.  The Ohio Revised Code requires the general health district to inspect the sanitary condition of all schools and school buildings semiannually. The Stark County Health Department, Environmental Health Division performs the school health and safety inspections for over 90 schools in Stark County. If you need information or have questions, please call 330 493-9904 to speak to a School Inspection staff member.
