Operation Homebound is a housing program funded by the Stark County Veterans Service Commission under the Financial Assistance Program to offer rental financial assistance to veterans in an effort to provide a successful transition from homelessness to permanent housing and maximize self-sufficiency.

Program Assistance

In an effort to assist Stark County veterans in moving toward permanent housing, the Stark County Veterans Service Commission will provide eligible veterans with the security deposit and subsidize the rent on a month-to-month basis for a nine (9) month period. The subsidized rent is in the amount of 70% of the monthly rent, while all parties are fulfilling their lease, agreement, and program obligations.

Eligibility Requirements

  • The veteran is required to have active federal service and character of discharge must be Honorable or Under Honorable conditions for all periods served. 
  • In receipt of reliable monthly monies (steady employment of at least 6 months, social security, service connected compensation, pension, retirement, etc.).
  • Must be homeless or precariously housed
