Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)

Newly hired full-time employees may enroll in the County’s Flexible Spending Account (FSA) program. FSAs allow you to put dollars aside in a health care, dependent care, or parking & transit reimbursement account on a pre-tax basis. Eligible expenses are reimbursed to you when you file a claim – or they can be deducted immediately from your FSA account using a pre-loaded Convenience Card. FSAs are beneficial because they reduce your taxable income and increase your take home pay. It should be noted Health Care and Dependent Care FSA accounts require re-enrollment each year. And, according to the IRS’s “use it or lose it” rule, any balances in excess of $660.00 not used during the plan year are forfeited (Up to $660.00 of unused balance will be carried over to the following plan year). Leading Edge Insurance and Consulting Services, is the local broker for our Colonial and FSA plans. Ameriflex will administer your FSA and contact information will be listed below..
