What is Nursing Services?
Nursing Services provides important services to the residents of Stark County. All of our programs are designed specifically to improve the health of our community. The Nursing Services Area prides itself in continuing to be an active and influential part of the community health care system and provides over a dozen programs to our county.
Walk-In STD Clinics:
The Stark County Health Department Nursing Services will offer walk-in STD clinics daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. as schedule allows on the 2nd floor of our building. The clinics will be held at the department located at 7235 Whipple Ave. NW, North Canton, Ohio 44720. Those interested will enter Door 2 – Nursing Clinics along the south face of the building for stairs and elevator access.
The clinics will offer testing for Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, HIV, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C, Trichomonas and Syphilis. If medication is necessary, patients can either pick them up at their local pharmacy or at the health department. The department accepts Ohio Medicaid plans and most private insurance plans. Nursing Services offers a sliding fee scale for payment of services. No one will be turned away from testing for inability to pay. Translation services will be provided for those who need it.
