Stark County Health Department receives Community Development Block Grant dollars through the Stark County Board of Commissioners

The Stark County Health Department has received funding from the Community Development Block Grant through the Stark County Board of Commissioners. This funding is to support the department’s COVID-19 response activities benefitting low-to-moderate-income persons throughout the villages, townships, and cities within its jurisdiction. The dollars will help with disease investigation, vaccination accessibility and distribution, and safety and compliance for local businesses. Stark County Health Department plans to host community immunization clinics for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began

The Stark County Health Department has made the decision to once again host in-person immunization clinics beginning on June 1, 2021. These are the first community clinics to be held since they were canceled last year due to COVID-19. Clinics for children and adults will be offered through the Stark County Health Department similar to last year. Residents must make appointments to attend the clinics. Stark County Health Department statement on 12 to 15 year old's and the COVID19 vaccine

The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and the CDC recommended the emergency use authorization of Pfizer-BioNTech for 12-15 year old's. Late last evening, we received the approval from Gov. DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health to begin administering the vaccine today. The Stark County Health Department will begin following this recommendation at all of our clinics. Those 12- 15 years of age must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian to their vaccine appointment. The parent or legal guardian must sign a consent form upon checking in at the clinics.
